Why Does Kohl’s Not Accept Google Pay?

The reason Kohl’s doesn’t accept Google Pay and other NFC payment methods is that they wouldn’t be able to capture anywhere near as much important customer data if they accepted Google Pay.

Like other stores, such as Walmart, Kohl’s decided to roll out their own payment system so that they can collect more data on their customer’s shopping habits.

Customers are incentivized to use the app as it lets them easily handle payment, store and apply savings directly from the app, track exchanges and returns as well as keep an eye on regular purchases. 

How To Use The Kohl’s App

To use the Kohl’s App follow these steps:

  1. Download the Kohl’s app.
  2. Sign in with your Kohl’s account or select ‘create an account’ and follow the instructions.
  3. The next screen will ask you to enroll in their Yes2You rewards program. If you have done this in store already fill in the information as prompted, if not select the ‘enroll in rewards’ tab fill in the form and tap ‘join today’.
  4. You will not be able to see all your rewards points and shopping activity in the app.

Once the app is setup then follow these steps to use it to pay for items in store:

  1. Select ‘Kohl’s pay’ in the menu.
  2. Verify your Kohl’s card.
  3. Select all the offers you want to apply to your shop.
  4. The ap will then display a QR code which the store associate will scan.
  5. Discounts will be automatically applied and your Kohl’s card will be debited for the outsanding amount. If you don’t have a Kohl’s card setup you can pay at the till.

Can You Get Cashback With The Kohl’s App?

No, the Kohl’s app does not allow you to get cashback, however you can earn Kohl’s cash credits in the app of up to $10 per $50 spent.
